Name Meaning: Kabi Kabi word for father

Ba’Ba is Buangun’s father, a seasoned warrior and respected leader. For years, he has competed in the Bunya Dreaming festival, winning many competitions and earning the respect of all who know him.

As a skilled hunter and teacher, he imparts wisdom to his family and community, guiding Buangun on his journey. Above all, Ba’Ba is a loving father, always looking out for his children while staying true to his cultural roots.

Name Meaning: Kabi Kabi word for blue crane or white-fronted heron.

Is his younger sibling and the family’s messenger. She keeps Buangun updated with news and tasks him with gathering herbs, ensuring his journey stays on track.

Ninderry was once a great and respected leader of the northern tribes, but after being defeated by Buangun’s father at the Bunya Dreaming festival, his heart became consumed by revenge. Fueled by a thirst for victory, Ninderry now seeks to reclaim his honor by winning the Dreaming himself. With the power of magic at his command, he can shapeshift into various forms, making him a dangerous and elusive foe.

Ninderry’s influence extends beyond humans—he commands a loyal following from the animal kingdom, including the fearsome red-bellied black snake, to aid him in his quest for power.
